" I thought Dr. Huffman was very straightforward with my mother and myself, as was his nurse Renee. They mentioned all possible complications and this was a serious possibly life ending operation. also they stressed the importantce of diet and excercise after surgery.
My only grip is not really with Dr.Huffman as much as the Doctor who assited during the weekend my mother went to ICU. He along with Park Ridge Hospital Nursing staff were very unconcerned and uncaring. We told them of complications she was experiencing to no avail.
By the time Dr. Huffman returned at the end of the weekend it was in my opinion to late. Which resulted in another surgery and ultimately her death. The complications were Infection caused by staple line leakage from the first surgery. If the other doctor and nurses would have listened to our concerns i believe the outcome would have been different."
"The ICU nursing staff were great and very attentive. When my mother was transferred to the west wing regular room. She received very poor care. The nursing staff was not intentive to her needs and on one day did not even bring her lunch. It was a horrible experience."
