Hi all. I have been given strict orders to post tonight for Laurie before I go to bed. Laurie is doing great following her surgery this afternoon. The surgery lasted about 4 hrs. and the doc said it went very well. The surgery started around 1:30pm and she was out by 5:30pm or so. Her gallstones were bigger than I had ever imagined. The surgeon gave one to me for a keepsake. It is one of three that they found when he removed her gall bladder. He told me that her gall bladder was the worse he had ever seen and it could not have been functioning for at least the last year.
He was amazed that she was not having any pain.
She was moved to the ICU about 9pm tonight and they expect her to stay there until sometime tomorrow afternoon. Laurie was very nauseated when I left at 9:30pm and they were trying to give her some additional meds to take care of it.
With any luck she will be out of the hospital in 4 to 6 days.
I want to thank everyone for all your prayers and good thoughts. Laurie and I really appreciate the words of encouragement.
Thanks,
Laurie's dh, Michael
