6month Update
Jun 02, 2009
americans! Luckily....It paid off! I finally got a job. I was without work for about
6 months....OUCH! I am thankful for my unemployment, but it just wasn't cutting the mustard.
So, I have lost about 87lbs or 95lbs all together. In 6 months...that is awesome. I think I
could probably be losing more weight if I made some smarter eating choices, but I have to
have some things. Not all the time, but once in a while. I consider myself one of the lucky or
unlucky ones that can actually eat some sugars and other bad things. I had my blood work
done and my levels are all normal and looking good! I couldn't ask for more. I hope all is
well with everyone and I will be posting some updated pictures soon! Take Care Everyone!
3 month update
Mar 05, 2009
about 56lbs in 3 months and I feel alot better. All together I have lost 68lbs. I still haven't
got a good exercise routine established yet. I am planning on starting out easy...like maybe
tennis. That sounds like fun. My pain levels have reduced a lot too. I can only hope and pray
that the weight continues to come off.
Laid-Off
Jan 12, 2009
So now if I want to continue insurance I have to pay for COBRA which is expensive for the whole family. I think I will have to pay for just myself for the time being. I am unemployed now and looking for work. I really didn't need this added stress....BUT as Wil Smith said on Oprah.....at every ending there is a new and better beginning. I just have to remind myself of that and know that there is another beginning out there for me. I figure....new year, new me and new job! As far a weightloss goes...I hit a stall after my 1 month anniversary. Just yesterday on the 11th it finally broke and the scale went down.....5lbs! So I now have a 35 lb weightloss!
That is all I have for now....but will write more as I go~
One month post-op
Dec 27, 2008
and I am down 30 lbs in 1 month!
Can I get a whoop-whoop
!! I wasn't sure if I was going to make to 30 but I did. I cannot wait to see what the future
months bring. My clothes are fitting me better
, and some are fitting me a little to baggy. I am going to try and put off buying clothes for a while.
I am kind of broke after christmas
. SOOOO, I'm happy with my 1st months results
and I am finally getting a hold of eating at the right pace! I'll update when I have more good news!
Post-Op Visit
Dec 10, 2008
. I was scared he would try to go poking around in the incision
. The nurse then came in and removed my staples
open. It was buring like a MF. It feels a little better this afternoon though. I also got weighed and I now weigh 390lbs.
My highest being 415lbs.
I'll write more when I have juicy stuff to tell!!!

11 days post op today
Dec 09, 2008
This 11 days has been so rough. Let me just say to anyone have a revision from LapBAND to RNY.....it's going to hurt more!
I felt like such a little baby in the hospital. I had to have a catheter placed before surgery.....2 trys by nurses that didn't know what the hell they were doing and then the surgury ladies came over and did it. "THANKS LADIES"My Mom told me that the doctor found a hole in my colon
and that there was a section bunched up like a sleeve. Kind of like my colon was trying to fix itself. He fixed all that and completed the revision. I woke up in excrushiating pain
I was in the hospital for 4 days and while there had to have another catheter placed by someone with little experience, WTF!I made it home and medicated myself!

Basically slept and sipped some walking (like a elderly person)
yep, I needed help. I came back to work on the 8th of Dec. and wished I could have taken more time off, but oh well. My boss is awesome though and dosen't let me do to much and lets me take more breaks. It helps when your boss is your BFF!
I have my follow up today. I'll have my staples removed and
hopefully will be given a little more freedom with what I can eat!
Life is good!
My journey has begun!
Two days til' surgery
Nov 26, 2008
My daughter is starting to look at me like I am going to die....
I talked to her and explained that it's normal to worry but not to let it ruin her day. Other than that things are great! I am ready for surgery. I have all my vitamins, protein...I still need to stop at the store and get more SF popsicles and jello
I kind of just want to
until Friday morning. Thanksgiving is going to be tuff.
I am planning on making a short appearance and then going back home. I am on liquids and don't need that temptation
I'll update a little later and let everyone know how I am doing! Thanks for reading!
Pre-Op Appointment 11/14/08
Nov 14, 2008
. Everything went pretty good. I also met with a nutrutionist and she gave me print outs and vitamin lists etc
.... I am getting so excited about it being just two weeks away
. The Doc said that I need to do liquid diet 3 days before surgery
, so no Thanksgiving turkey for me. I know there are people that have to do weeks of liquid
so I know I am lucky
I am praying
that everything goes well and I come out of surgery with no major complications
. I'll post an update just before and after surgery and let everyone know how I am doing. Wish me luck!
10/8/08 My Consult appointment details...
Oct 13, 2008
I was so nervous
that my appointment was going to be a waste of time. I kept it in the back of my head, and keep the positive
thoughts in the front. I got to the office with my heart beating out of my chest
! When I finally met Dr. Zane I was ready to come out of my skin. He was very plesant, and more than happy to listen to my issues with the band, and weight problems in general
. He asked what I would like to have done in place of the band, and I told him RNY. He discussed some other things with me and told me he would be able to perform my revision surgery !! I was so EXCITED
. I think I was in shock
! He then pulled out this folder and said he was all booked for October, but November had openings. SO, I picked November 28th, 2008
! I have my per-op visit Nov. 13, 2008. I'll keep everyone posted as my journey continues!
Appointment for Consult
Sep 13, 2008
It was Dr. Zane's office calling to schedule a consult
I am trying to remain positive
, but there is still that little voice in the back of my mind that makes me want to think the worst
. I have done alot of reading on Dr. Zane. Everyone just has positive feed back, this is a major BONUS
! I have my consult on 10/8/08. I will post and let everyone know how it goes!Oh yeah, one more thing. I was in the hospital from 9/22/08 thru 9/25/08. I went to the emergency room in pain
and they did an unltrsound on me and found that I have gallstones
so they kept me and removed my gallbladder two days later so that is one less thing to worry about. I'll update again after my consult!
