OK. I started trying to get weight loss surgery back when it wasn't even cool yet. (pre 2000) That was about the time that the singer had her surgery and it seemed it was coming to the forefront for the first time. It was as if nobody had ever heard of it. Anyway, I've been battling obesity since puberty and you can imagine its been over 20 years, so I'm exhausted and loosing the fight.That's how I became a "new timer/old timer." My health has taken a significant change for the worst and now I cant work at all. Which I hate cause I'm one of those totally lucky people that really loves thier work.
I'm being cared for by a pain management specialist, endocrinologist and neurologist amongst the usual obgyn, primary care doc. All the usuals. blah blah blah. It may not be the exact same story but its like so many others and yet it feels like no one knows the pain and suffering I've been thru. Its horrible. I want more than anything to get a chance to live life to the fullest but I don't know what is going to happen. Hubby even had to let go of a job he loved (and in this time of financial woes and such!!) to get one closer to home to take care of me. Ouch! Thats a slap in the face soothed with an ice pack of reality.
He got a job in Pensacola where we are trying to move to. Have no idea when we are moving but its to be as soon as possible even though I barely have the strength to shower and bathe the pain is so bad! Safe to say I wont be the one packing this place up. I'm going to have to have family come up from like another planet to help me to pack my own home. Just how sad is that?! Anyway, enough whining but I don't have allot of options and for the first time ever the health insurance we have covers bariatric surgery with sacred heart hospital. (Can that be the angels singing?!!!) So after I jump thru their hoops which is 9 months of their physician supervised dieting at least, I should still be healthy enough for surgery. Just keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer that my quest didn't take too long.
