Debbie M.
I can not beleive it has been 5 years(or is it 6) since my WLS. I have not updated this in a long time, but I feel I should. Life has been wonderful. I have a new life! a great Husband, Teddy, and a different way of looking at life. WLS changes everything....good or bad.
I have kept my weight off, and I weigh around 200 lbs.
I would like to warn people about Kidney problems with the WLS diet. I am one of the unlucky ones that has had many kidney stones and surgery to remove them. I have also had major kidney surgery due to a stone tearing the utuer(tube to the bladder) After 7 months of healing my Kidney died. Very depressing, but many live with one kidney for years. I take medication , and have regular check ups with my urologist. The kidney diet is opposite the WLS diet. Where WLS diet eats protein, the kidney diet does not.......so.......I am stuck in the middle, but so far doing ok. I ask ALL wls patients to have kidney profiles by your Doctor. It could save your life!
I want to thank obesityhelp.com for the emails. My life has changed so much that I forget some of the small things..such as writing in this journal. I wish everyone a great WLS journey and life can be GREAT!!!!
hugs and wonderful wishes to everyone,
God Bless,
Debbie
