It's official...I am months away from ending the battle of being overweight!! I have finally scheduled my laproscopic gastric bypass for August 17 at 7:30. I can't believe that I have decided to change myself mentally and physically.

I am 2 1/2 weeks away from changing my life!!!! I can't believe it - I was approved for the gastric bypass (Roux-en-Y) and this/close to having the surgery.  I am excited, nervous, tense, emotional and elated...all of those feelings rolled up into one. Of course, I have gained 5 pounds in this process because I know that the next 6 mths; I won't be able to enjoy and savor food anymore. I'm not depressed or saddened that food will not be that crutch that I kept holding on to. 

I completed all of the preoperative blood work, cleared by the medical staff and finished my last nutrition class. This is it - there's no going back.  I want to be healthy and free from diabetes....

Who said that losing weight would be easy! I am 7 days away from starting a new beginning!!! I can't believe it...
