Finally to ONEderland!

Jul 24, 2009

Today I stepped on the scales and I weight 199.2 lbs.  The first time in 13 or 14 years that I've been under 200.  I've very happy about it today.  Got 30 lbs to go!  Need to work my tummy more, I feel like I've lost all shape to my body.  I do miss the curves a little.

Second Fill 6/29/09

Jun 30, 2009

Yesterday 6/29, I got my second fill.  I'm up to 3.0cc in my band.  I had lost 12 lbs since May 20th and my doc was very pleased, as was I b/c I didn't think it was that much.  I spent 9 days on vacation with the family and ofcourse was NOT on my best bahavior food wise.  I didn't go crazy and eat bread or drink soda, but definitely enjoyed some desserts I typically wouldn't think about.  I also was crazy enough to take my scale and I weighed everyday just like I do at home.  I know I shouldnt do that, but I'm OCD sometimes.  At 65 days post op, I've lost 29 lbs and 20 total body inches.  I measured EVERYTHING before surgery.  My bust and hips showed the most progress, my arms to my chagrin, have showed the least.  Im working out 3-4 days a week still and am getting frustrated with my arms.  Goodwill and thrift shops have become another OCD obsession.  I have no problem spending 3 bucks on some lane bryant or GAP jeans even if I'm only going to wear them a month or so.  I can be so stressed and go to Goodwill, spend 20 bucks and all is right with the world again.  16s and 18s are too big now.  I'm mostly in 14w with a few 16s still hanging around.  In dresses I'm in a 14.  My short term goal was to be at 199 for my bday in July.  I've updated that to be at 195.  Somebody tell me why I didn't have this surgery 5 years ago?  I feel like I've missed out on some of the best years of my life b/c of my weight and it makes me really sad.  I just hope the saying "30s the new 20" hold some truth.

30 days Post-Op

May 26, 2009

Well I've survived my first month as a bandster!!!  I've lost 20 lbs and 18.75 inches.  Had my first fill, eating solids and getting back to normal.  I'm starting to get compliments now.  And can finally tell when trying on clothes.  I've got about 40-50 more lbs to go.  But I'm happy so far and am very glad for my band and ALL THE SUPPORT I've found here on OH.

Went for my first fill, didn't happen.........

May 14, 2009

I've never been a patient person, I'll learn one day I guess.  so my original appt for my fill was 5/18, I called and asked for an earlier appt cuz I get hungry really easy.  This week has been better but last was horrible.  anyways, I go in for the fill and my doc tells me its too soon and that my port area is still too swollen.  SOOOOOO, we'll try again on the 20th, that is 2 days shy of a month with my band.  I'm not really losing any weight  and that makes me mad.  But I have to remember this is a tool and NOT a magic wand.  I'm in the 800-1000 calorie range, but I think I need more since I've started back at the gym.  Everyone there thinks I cheated by getting the band and have NO sympathy whatsoever!!!  The bright side:  I'm the lowest weight I've been since I was 19, that does make me feel good.

Almost two weeks since surgery

May 07, 2009

Had my surgery on 4/24, down 12.5 lbs.  ALWAYS hungry.  NO NOT head hunger!  My tummy is growling alot.  First adjustment on the 13th, hopefully that will make a difference.  Need to learn patience and "trust the process" as my counselor tells me.  Still trying to figure out what that means.
