To start, I haven't been heavy all of my life. I was fairly thin throughout my teens (a size 9). After having my first child, I lost the weight. When I was 23 I had my 2nd child and was a size 14 after giving birth and it just kept climbing from there. I had my 3rd child when I was 36 years old and I was so heavy that you couldn't tell I was pregnant. I'm now 40 and a size 3x. I'm doing weight watchers for a 2nd time in the last 3 years. So far I've lost 5 1/2 lbs in the past 4 weeks. My goal is to lose 5% of my weight by the time the 10 weeks is up. I'm looking into weight loss surgery because I feel like I can't get a handle on this by myself. I'm not getting any younger and I have a 4 year old autistic son that I would like to be here to raise. Some of the reasons I feel that I need the surgery are because I have SVT (Supra Ventricular Tachycardia) or fast heart beat that I've had since I was a kid and it's getting worse since I've aged and gained so much weight. I can not have caffine or anything that would race my heart. So I can't take diet aids to speed up your metabolism or assist with weight loss due to it inducing an attack. Other problems are my knees and back hurt constantly. I don't sleep good. I have plantar facitius in my feet and have had inserts specially made for my shoes. So it's difficult to walk very far without a lot of pain afterward. I'm tired all of the time and my blood pressure is starting to climb now. I have done one good thing. I quit smoking March 20, 09 after many years of smoking.
I'm looking forward to making friends on this website and learning more information about weight loss surgery. I am actually going to attend a seminar in Nashville in a couple of days. Hopefully I will feel more confident about it after attending.
