I have met with Dr. Bodner and had all my pre-op testing done. I will see Dr.
B. again on 4-15-03 to sign my consent forms and hopefully get a tentative date
for Surgery. I do however, have several questions which I am sure he will
answer.
On 3-20-03, I went to a support group in RI at Roger Williams Hospital. What a
great group, It is approx. 45 miles from my office and then another 30 miles to
get home but worth it. I didn't realize how important a support group was until
I attended this one. If you can find one in your area I encourage you to go.

Well, I have ten more days before surgery. I will be in Florida, 5/13 - 5/17,
hopefully this will help the time fly by. I then have my pre-op testing on the
19th and liquids only on the 20th. It is strange, but I am concerned about being bored!!!! I am also afraid of surgery in general, have never been
under general anesthesia, but what I keep hearing is I won't even know it.

I am at my house finally. Came home on May 26 and went to my mothers. On the
28th I was re-admitted, as a result of a staph infection from my JP drain. Had
several test and a mixture of antibiotics to cure anything. (I am allergic to
penicillin) I was released four days later. As a result of the infection I am
tired more so now than when I was first released. As of the 28th I have lost 10
lbs, (seven days) wooohooo, hope it doesn't stop....
I will update after my next appt.

I didn't think I would have another appointment this fast but, my incision
started to drain in one small area. I went to see the surgeon, and he cut it
open about 1 cm (?) and packed it. I now have to have a visiting nurse come
everyday to pack my wound. Not too happy but it could be worse. The good news
is...drum roll please.....I am down a total of 24, count them 24 pounds in two weeks......... :) WOW.

Went in for a check up at 3 weeks post op, I am down 32.2 lbs, can't believe it
but I will take it. :)

In for another check up 4 weeks post op as of 6/21/03, lost 6 lbs since the
tenth. It took 14 days to lose 6 lbs, I am not too happy with that. A total of
38 lbs gone so I guess I should not complain.

10/08/06 I bounce around with a weight loss of 197 to 201 lbs lost. Which is
fine, Maintenance is considered keep your weight within 5 - 7 lbs of your goal
weight per my NUT.
05/19/07 PS post op now lost 10 lbs in two weeks I have lost a total of 212 lbs.
Wouldn't change this loss for the world, and I would do it all over again.
