7 months out!
Jul 01, 2007
Hello again!
I decided it was time to update with so many new people coming to the boards. so here goes. DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!! I have gone from a 276 high and I am now down to 158! and a baggy size 10 pants snug size 8! I just can't even believe it, or picture it in my mind. lol I look at my body and still feel fat but people are telling me I am smaller then I think I am. It is just so weird I can't seem to get a handle on it. With my cloths on I can see I have lost a lot, I feel my bones now and they hurt when you lay on them! but look in the mirror undressed and yikes I just see fat! It has been pretty easy to stick to the diet though I am finding to many sugar free snacks like the weight watchers thin mints yummy! I am having fun collecting the different recipes and finding new things to fix that are legal. I had to have a 2nd surgery, completly unrelated to the RNY, and I am bummed that I can't go to the gym and have to start all over with the exercise restrictions. I was just getting to the point where I was in the routine of going which makes it easier.
shopping for cloths is still a problem, the styles are aweful right now with the short tops and cap sleaves, I still like to hide my flaws!

4 Months out!

Well, I guess it is past time to update. I am 4 months out from my RNY. This is just FANTASTIC! It is by far the best thing I have ever done for myself. Life is wonderful. I feel great and have no problems at all. Ok, except I can't seem to keep myself in cloths! I am down a total of 93 pounds, 60 pounds since surgery! I have gone from the the streach elastic weight jeans size 26-28 to a almost baggy 14! I actually enjoy going to the gym now. Life is full of surprises! The best workout I get is with the big fitness ball. Man, it really makes a differance in tightening up your tummy and sides. I truly have nothing to complain about. I am finding more healthy products everyday to replace my old unhealthy ones. Anyone who is thinking of this surgery, GO FOR IT! Even those who do have complications say they would do it again in a heart beat. I do have a problem finding blouses I feel are long enough and have them fit. The stiles today are just not made for 50 year old women. lol I still like to have a blouse that covers my tummy. Some of my favorite foods are.
Blue Bunny 0 carb Ice Cream
Toufutti sour cream.
South beach diet carmel protein bars.
Soy chips
Cheese, real cheddar
Crystal Light hard candies (sugar Free)
Weight Watcher's peppermint candy
Filet Migon from Black Angus
Salad with low cal ranch
Sugar Free Popsicles
See I have no problem finding good stuff to eat! I dont eat these everyday but when you crave sweet of salty they do the job.
Good luck to everyone starting there journy! If I never lose another pound I am happy!

Thanksgiving
Nov 24, 2006
Well I survived Thanksgiving, I found a pumpkin pudding recipe on OH with some SF coolwhip and some campbells chicken and herb strained soup (tasted like turkey gravey to me). So I felt like I had my treat to. I was rewarded with a big drop on the scale. I am just loving this. I don't mind the clear liquid diet at all so far. Right now life is kinda like living in a dream. It seems like I can really do it this time! Not at all like in the past when I would diet a week or month then just give it up because I couldn't lose enough to make a differance.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Today I am 9 days out of surgery, walked my mile, and have lost 6 pounds from my pre surgery weight, Bringing my total lost to 38 pounds. I am not looking forward to being on liquids for Thanksgiving but I will make the best of it. I just can't wait to get to the 3 month mark to see where I stand. I have not regretted this decision one minute. (Tomorrow Thanksgiving may be a different story, man that was poor planning). I have met so many wonderful people here on OH that I just want to thank each and everyone for giving me the support and guidance we all need.
