Hi, Kristin, I just read your post about becoming fearful. I don't know what your faith is, but I know as a Christian I just pray and ask the Lord to bring me peace in whatever situation I am afraid of. I will be praying for you too that all of the days before your surgery and after you will be able to just rest in Him, knowing that he is always there by your side. I will also pray for your husband and children that all of you may experience true peace about this. I really feel God has made this whole thing possible for so many of us who have struggled with morbid obesity, and I am so thankful that we all are ready to comfort and support each other. Just know you are in my thoughts and prayers and I will be looking forward to hearing that the surgery is over and all is well. We sing a song at our church "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms", and one of the verses says, "what have I to dread, what have I to fear, leaning on the everlasting arms". Just keep that in mind. Jan

Dear Kristin. I am thinking of you and will keep you in my prayers for Wednesday. Your fears are natural...just try not to dwell on them.

I'm wishing you a safe, successful surgery and an uncomplicated, quick recovery. I had my Open RNY on Dec. 10, 2001 and I'm really happy that I did. I agree with so many postops, its the BEST thing I could have done for my health and well being. God bless you as you start your journey to a new you.

Hi Kristin: Your thoughts and fears are normal. We all require a certain amount of faith to go through this process. I can only speak for myself that it was incredibly worth it. You have many people here sending you warm wishes and good thoughts. I am one of them. Blessings for a safe journey.

Hang in there, Kris! You are so close to the other side! Remember that what you are doing takes a LOT more courage than doing nothing! My thoughts and prayers are with you - My surgery was 1/29/02 and I've already lost 37 lbs and feel better than I have in a long time! Keep us posted!
