Staples still in....
Jun 05, 2010
Yes...I know I have been a big idiot and just plain dumb...but here I go.
I had my gastric bypass surgery March 12, 2010. I went to my 2 wk fu appt and everything went fine. My doctor decided to leave my staples in another week or so. Cut to right now. I have still not gone back to have my staples removed. My husband and family are all over me about it. I cannot believe I let it get to this point. My skin has ripped and overgrown over the staples in some points. Does anyone know if it will require another surgery to take these out. Or will I be able to do an in office procedure still. I know my doctor is going to be HOT!

Let's see.....I still have my staples and by JP drainage pouch is still hanging on. I actually think I could lay down in the bed if it were not for this thingy. I have switched from just plain liquids to milk and slim fast shakes. I don't know about anyone else....but, I am bored stiff. However...i would not change anything....cause I can feel myself get healthier ever single Day!

Gastrectomy, partial, distal with gastroduodenostomy?
Mar 05, 2010
I had a Lapband in Aug/05. Absolutely no weight loss. I had problems from the very beginning. I had 1 fill and 1 attempted fill. The attempted fill was done by no less than 5 different people including 1 surgeon. No pain meds. After that ordeal...I did not go back. I have tried several ways to lose weight since. On Feb 18, I went into my Dr. office to see if I could have a revision over to a gastric bypass. After, all testing...and with an approval from my insurance UHC Choice Plus-Texas...I am now scheduled for a Gastrectomy, partial, distal with gastroduodenostomy?
Has anyone ever had this surgery. I have searched the boards...and the best that I can come up with is Billroth I?
What is the recovery time for this type of procedure?
