I have had weight problems all my life.  At 59 I decided to do something once and for all.  I am tired of giving myself shots at bedtime and between meals for type two diabetes.  So February 24, 2010 I went to my first meeting.  And after perseverance and determination, I got my surgery date for July 12, 2010.  When  I  started this program, I was a top weight of 341.6,  entering into surgery, i was at 301.2.

I had surgery and came home weighing 312.6   from all the fluids I was given IV.  and one week out I am at 296.6 today.  I have had a fairly easy time with the surgery.  I had the full roux bariatric surgery.  My hospital stay was 3 days.  I came home late about 8 pm on the third day.  Very sore at one on the laposcopic sights.  And the drain spot was sore.  but for the most part, it was all tolerable.  My other half has been at my side helping me every step of the way.  My main issue has been diarrhea.  Uncontrolled diarrhea.  I have had two very bad experiences with this issue.  I am very tired of the liquid diet, I feel the need for solid food.  Not that I am hungry, but things smell good, but cant have even a taste yet.  I am learning to cook with splenda and everyone in my house will have to like it.  No more sugar poison.

As time progresses, I will let you know how I am doing.  As for today, I am having a very emotional day with lots of tears, for reasons I dont know why.  Just tired of the recoupment period of surgery I guess.
