Marcie, You go girl!!! Some 'friends' of mine reacted the same way your friend did and I had to raise my voice a little just to get her to listen to me. I had a good friend tell me I was taking the easy way out and all I had to do is get serious and stick to a diet. Of course this person weighs all of 115 lbs!! Like she knows about the problems obese people have to contend with!!! I applaud you standing up for yourself. Deciding to have this surgery is entirely your decision and for whatever the reasons, it is a personal choice. Hopefully, your friend will one day realize the emotional as well as physical pain you are in and be supportive. Having people around you that care and support you is a must. I have not regretted having my surgery 3 1/2 months ago for one minute. I feel better than I have in many years and my self esteem and feelings of self worth has improved greatly. Plus the best part is my health has improved 1000 o/o. You have your surgery and your friend will see the changes in you for the good. Good luck to you for a safe surgery and a happy and healthy new you!!

Friends can be friends even if they disagree.
