Mandy, I just read your post. When feeling blue about your “slow” weight loss or a plateau, remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 82 pounds!!! Good luck!

Best Wishes for a successful surgery and smooth recovery! Weigh to go! I just read another post from someone who just had surgery and the thing that hurts the most is their BACK. And it is PAINFUL, not just uncomfortable. THE LAST THING YOU NEED TO TELL YOUR SURGEON, BEFORE THEY PUT YOU UNDER, IS TO PUT SOMETHING UNDER YOUR KNEES TO TAKE THE PRESSURE OFF YOUR BACK!!! Time and time again folks are coming out of the O.R. and their back is killing them. It’s because you are lying flat on your back for hours on a hard surface. How long can you do that now? If the surgeon will just put a rolled up blanket under your knees this problem will be eliminated! Got It?... Good…. Problem solved. (Or at least talk it over with him/her).

Good luck next week!!! That is great getting such a quick surgery date. What a Christmas present, but you know, next Christmas will be even better after you are much healthier than this year!! I wish you the best. I just had my surgery Dec. 8, 2003. As hard as it's been to adjust to, I'm really glad I did it. It does get a little easier every day. Do what the doctor and nurses tell you and you'll do great! Walk, walk, and walk. I think your age may make it easier to recover, so good for you getting this done now. Your 20's will be better than my "fat" 20's! Take care and enjoy the new you.
