Wow, guess I have really been slipping as far as updating this! Everything is going good for me health wise with no problems!! I am 5 months out from surgery and down 90 lbs now and feeling really good. Discovered that I can NOT eat a few of my favorites any longer-( beef) I have tried several different times with steak and it just ain't happening for me but fish & chicken goes down good so I pretty much stick with them now. It is great that I am finally able to have the energy to be able to do things that i was not able to do in the past. I will try to keep this updated a bit more often and I also added a couple of recent pics to show the progress i have made so far and looking forward to losing even more now that I am able to shop in the regular sizes!

I went for my 10 day follow-up after my surgery and all is well. Staples came out(thank god) and incision looks great they say. I am down 10 lbs from day of surgery so that is a big plus! I was also told I could finally start stage 2 of foods- better than just liquids!!!!!

Well, I am home as of Weds. the 20th. Have not had much problems at all just trying to get around as best as I can right now. My surgery went great with NO problems at all. Today is the first day that I am up and around enough to sit at the computer for awhile. Keeping all my liquids down and slowly getting my strength back as well.

Well, I have less then 24 hrs to go before my surgery and just trying to get a few last things done around the house and everything ready for the holidays. Took the grandbabies out last night for their picture with Santa and it made me realize how much I despise the mall at this time of the year!!! Well, I will be back in touch when I get home from the hospital and hopefully everything is uneventful and goes good.

OK- just got the phone call I have been waiting from the gastro Dr- for the retest of the H-Pylori infection they had found a couple of months ago-YEAH!!! it came back negative so my surgery is definitely a go for the 18th. I was getting kinda nervous that it would come back positive again but i am finally relieved.
OH I just had to come back and add this little info- I am a grandmother to a beautiful little girl as of yesterday-12-06-06-, ok well not so little!! She weighed in at 9lbs 4ozs and 21 1/2" and she looks just like her big brother(14 months old)

Today I went for all my pre-op lab work and meeting with the Anestesiologist-ok however it is spelled-lol. Guess I better get things done that need to be done - 21 days to go and I can't wait!! I am supposed to start the liquid diet 2 weeks before but i pretty much already started it just so i could lose as much as possible before hand and get my liver shrunk down. In 2 weeks i dropped 14lbs from the liquids only so I know i will def. be able to drop a few more before the 21st.

Well, everything was submitted last week to my insurance company and I got the phone call this morning from Jane that I was APPROVED!!!! Wow, only took less then 1 week and on the first try! Now I just have to wait till they can retake the test for the H-Pilori bacterial infection in my stomache since it was positive . I will have that done the 1st week of Dec. so hopefully I will be able to have the surgery by the holidays. So much looking forward to this and now getting anxious for the date.
OK- i got THE call- it is officially scheduled- Dec. 18,2006

Well, talked with Drs. and being I did test positive for the gastro infection-even though all meds were finished I still have to wait 2 months to be retested to make sure it is completely gone so that def. holds up my surgery. They already have everything in they need to submit to my insurance and they are going to go ahead and do that but I still have to wait till the 7th of December to restest- then they will give me my date. Kinda depressing having to wait longer but I know it is for the best. Was wishing to have the WLS before Christmas but it doesn't look like that will happen so hopefully by New Years.

Just got back from my last pre-op clearance that I needed-Pulmonologist- He gave me the go ahead and now all I have to do is wait for all clearances to be sent in. This was probably the easiest one I had because he found nothing wrong to hold me back from WLS.
