I have been over weight my whole life. The first time I really understood was when I was in 3rd grade and my mom took me to Jenny Craig. That was the beginning of 18 years full of every diet under the sun. I was very athletic growing up, played softball and volleyball through highschool which kept my weight under control. The summer before my 11th grade year I went took Phen Phen and lost 30 lbs which made me hit the 199 mark - that is the smallest I remember being (I'm 5'8).

Then came college.... I left CA at 17 and went to college in TX. My freshman year I gained 50 lbs. I think it was a combonation of cafeteria food and the fact that I stopped playing sports. Before my sophmore year in college I lost 30 lbs and was a comfortable size 18 through the rest of my college years. I ate some what healthy and exercised 3-4 times a week.

My first real job did me in... I worked 10 hour days with a one hour commute both ways. No exercise and A LOT of stress/emotional eating and I gained 70 lbs in one year. I went on Weight Watchers many times and would loose 20 gain 30... over and over but I kept telling myself that I could do lose the weight by myself.

Finally this January 2007 I admitted to myself that I could not do it alone. I began my research on weight loss surgery. After hours of research I decided that the Lap Band was for me. My surgery is scheduled for April 17, 2007 and I can't wait....
