Did okay on liquid protein!

Oct 10, 2009

Did pretty good on the 3 day "modified" liquid diet. Lost a couple pounds and seemed to have reigned in my carb addictions to a normal-for-rny-guideline status! I am enjoying protein shakes and bars as well as getting in more water. Having a "bite or two" of treats but NOTHING like the BAD habits I was getting involved in! (i.e. drinking sodas, eating too many carbs, grazing all day, to name the major ones!)We'll see how I handle my PMS days where i usually eat a lot more, and of the bad things, to boot!

getting back on track

Oct 05, 2009

Well, i am going to do the 3 day liquid protein diet to get back on track!!!!! Too many carbs, empty calories, and grazing! It WILL stop, Lord willing! I AM! I AM !I AM!   "Letting things slide" is only hurting me- a few carbonated drinks here or there, fast food every once in a while, and now it is becoming routine, habitual!!!!NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is not why I had the surgery! I have been soooo blessed by God to have a 2nd chance to live a REAL  life, so why am I sabotaging my chance? Well, I'm going to do the best I can to get back on track!  "Dear God, Thank You for bringing me to this realization. Forgive me for indulging foolishly in my eating. Help me to get back on track through this protein diet. I need you to give me strength to withstand the temptations, as I deny the bad things I have allowed my body to once again become used to having. I need to rid my body of these things that are not good for me. Please help me and help me to do my part. I love you and thank You for this wonderful gift of WLS you've brought into my life. In Jesus' name, Amen."

I'm Back after a long time w/out the internet

Aug 12, 2009

I have missed the oh forums and it's good to be back.  Things have been going well overall.  I have run a 12k (7.45mi) and place 2nd in the women's division! Worked very hard and trained for 12 weeks or so for it.  Ran one other 5k and placed 2nd for my age group. Have slacked off these past few weeks with my running due to school, my birthday WEEK  celebration, and then, on a sad note, our family dog S'mores getting killed by a car!
We hve decided to homeschool Dalton after much thoughts and prayers.  Carson is in K4.  Heath is going on a missions trip to Mexico in September.

honeymoon phase over

Aug 18, 2008

I have had some setbacks.  The scale has held steady at 142-144 and today my bad choices from the past few weeks have caught up with me.  It read this a.m. 146! OUCH!  I am going to the Y to run and will increase my runs from 3.1 - 4 miles today. With vacations, strep and birthday dinners I have not kept up with the rules of using my tool.  But, today that changes. Right now.  With God's help, I am back on track.  Carbs will be limited to right before long workouts of 5 miles or more.  Protein increase to total 50 grams per day.  Six mini meals/ day. No drinking for 1 hour after meals and 64 ounce of water/day.

I had rny gastric bypass on 5-01-07 and as of today 2-14-08 i have lost 101 pounds!!!!!!!  I am sliding out of a size 6 into a size 4 and feel GREAT (other than currently having the flu!)   My family and I have been dealing with sickness for the last 4 weeks, but usually I am a gym rat and LOVE it! I have run up to 4 miles in 30 minutes and enjoy working out on the elliptical machine at the local YMCA.  I have been invovled in the yoga/pilates class that meets 2x's a week as well.  This is the way to go to get toned and have less "flapping" skin after surgery!!  Go to a pilates/yoga class ASAP- it does wonders for your post-op body's shape!!!!!!  It's challenging but refreshing without "wearing you out".  JUST DO IT!!!!
I still have some eating issues to sort through- not much affects me and I do not want to feed my emotions.  Probably need therapy to work thru this but currently do not have insurance.
