HI EVERYONE,
   I AM FINALLY HAVING MY SURGERY, I HAVE DECIDED TO HAVE THE RNY RATHER THAN THE BAND. I AM CONFIDENT THAT I HAVE MADE THE RIGHT DECISION. MY MOM HAD THE RNY AND SHE IS DOING GREAT AND SHE WANTS THE BEST FOR ME AS WELL. I DON'T COME ON AS OFTEN AS I SHOULD OR WOULD LIKE TO BUT I AM TRYING TO BE MORE ACTIVE MOVING FORWARD. WELL, I AM COUNTING THE DAYS AND I AM SO EXCITED. MY TIME IS FINALLY HERE AND FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION. WELL, THAT'S ALL FOR NOW....TOOTLES

So I have been basically having tons of appointments with my doctor, because I haven't lost any weight, even though it is not required by my insurance, my doctor has put me on a diet. A diet that is annoying and often not followed that well. Anywho I have a couple of more appointments with the nurse, I guess until they can get it through my head not to eat what I have been, which has basically been awful experience, I need to gain some self control, my surgery could have been done a long time ago. :(((

  So tomorrow I have my last two appointments my sleep study and meet with the psychiatrist. I got everything  done with the nutritionist and dietitian last week. I hate waiting on anything, I will throw a fit when things don't go as I have planned. So hopefully when I see my Dr on 12/21/2011 this will be considered my post op visit, I'm not sure. I have really been trying to focus on my no starch diet and following the plan I have been given, but it can be a little hard sometimes. Luckily for me, my hubby can cook, so I have been ignoring the kitchen and making salads. I really hope my surgery is scheduled for early January so I can have my road trip with my best friends. I have Tricare Prime and they move really fast, I got approved in two days to see the surgeon, so hopefully nothing slows up the process.I am also leaning towards the RNY surgery, just from the research I have been looking in to. I want what is going to be best for me. Well that's all for now.

I kept telling myself this today since, I totally have no patience at all. I had my first visit with Dr. McDevitt, I see him in a month, I have my appt with the nutritionist and exercise whatever i cant remember exactly the name, but that appt is in two weeks. I have to be on a no carb diet and keep a food diary as well as purchase a podometer to count my steps, this is going to be sooooo fun. Atleast I'm telling myself that to stay positive. Hopefully I get my psych appt scheduled, I'm getting the run around with tricare as to if I need a referral for that appt or not. Once the appts are done I can go to the next step. Hope everyone enjoys there holiday weekend.

Today was not a good day, I went to my seminar and now I'm more confused about what surgery to have than ever. I have an appointment with my dr wednesday, hopefully, I figure out what is best.

So monday I went to have my first appointment and today I called and My surgery has been approved from tricare. I am so excited, I called the surgeon's office and spoke with the really sweet and helpful nurse Jane. My seminar is set for next week and she said  I should have surgery by Janurary!! The new me for the new year, everything is working out great.

So today I had my appointment with my dr, my pcm. I have tricare prime and I went into her office told her my health drama and that was that. She told me to come in for labs, which I'm planning on doing tomorrow hopefully. She gave me a card to contact the rn's who send the referral info to tricare humana, in 3 to 5 days, after that she said they will contact me or I can follow up as to when to expect my packet from tricare on the process. I have decided to have the RNY surgery. I am so excited, because I was so nervous and for some reason thought she would say no, but being that my bmi is over 40, there really isn't any other requirements I need, from what the doctor told me today. My pcm Commander Hulbert was so nice, she said it should take no more than six months for this process, but I hope it's sooner. This was a great day!!

I'm RacQuell, 23 from Charleston SC. I currently weigh 277 lbs and have been overweight for the last 5 or 6 years or so. I am not sure which weight loss surgery is best for me, but I'm reading and would love input from anyone. I have tricare prime, because my husband is in the navy and the first step, from what I have viewed on other forums, is to meet with my pcm, which is what I am doing next week. I hope she says yes, I previously had bcbs, so this will be my first time meeting my new primary care doctor. I'm not sure what she will say, I have pcos, very bad psoraisis, high blood pressure as well, but I'm anxious to learn the output of my appointment.
