Well like many, weight has always been an issue. I was always heavy growing up, tried several diets (some worked, some not) but nothing every seemed to be a "permanent" solution. Food addiction was/is definitely a problem as well as binge eating when I got older. A crappy 1st marriage didn't help things either and I found myself tipping the scales at 405 at my heaviest (that I know of as my scale topped @ 400). I was able to have a gastric sleeve done in 2007 which helped a LOT - losing almost 200 pounds and getting to a lowest weight of 209. However, gradually that weight started to come back and over the past year or so have gained about 75 to 90 pounds and now am almost @ 300 again :( So even though I have great insurance, because I had my sleeve in Mexico, finding a surgeon in the states who would even consider touching me was practically impossible. The one I did find.... well the office staff kept chaning what was required, had conflicting information given to me multiple times to the point that I just said screw it and said I would go back to Mexico. It took a little more time to get the financing but YEAH!! finally!! I got approved yesterday and have my revision from Sleeve to DS scheduled on March 31st. I am SOOOO freaking excited!! I had been a member on this site years ago when I initially started researching WLS and for the longest time my only obstacle was money. I couldn't get financed, didn't have insurance and thought I'd never get the opportunity to do this. However by some miracle, managed to come up with the money & went to Mexico that first time and was so blessed to have what I consider a life-saving procedure -- I was so depressed and so miserable and in a lot of physical and emotional pain from the weight that I figured I would eventually just eat myself to death. But after I was able to lose the weight I was able to return to work and live a more fulfilling and happy life. I met a wonderful man whom I married last May and he's been a great support and is behind my decision to have the revision in a couple of months. I'm still working, staying active and am ready to start this new chapter in my life.
