I am 32 years old and married to my high school sweetheart. We have a great life together. I have been overweight since the age of 8. I have done the diets, diet pills, just about everything and anything someone has told me I did. Without success. I would loose and then gain all of what I lost plus at least 10 lbs. I started researching the surgery about 3 years ago, however I had and exclusion in my insurance for moribid obesity. So needless to say I couldn't really afford to pay for it. In June my husband changed jobs and low and behold we had an option for 3 different insurances and one of the covered it!! We jumped on it.
I started the whole process of the prep program required by my insurance in August and I have finished all of it. I was with another surgeon in Baton Rouge and have just been having some BAD feelings. On last Friday I read some news on the facility I was at and got really freaked out. So I made the phone call to The Lake. Let me start by saying Oh my gosh they are nice!!! I told them what was going on and within an hour I was called back 3 times. It was amazing to me considering what all I had been going through. Anyway this morning I recieved a call back again with my appointment date of Monday at 230 with Dr. Hausmann I am really excited....
I hope to have the surgery before the end of the year considering all of my prep program is completed. I would love to hear from anyone that has had Dr. Hausmann as a surgeon. Oh guess most important information I am having the Gastric Bypass!! Look forward to meeting and speaking with some of you that have or are going through the process!!
