It's crazy to think a year ago I was thinking just 6 mos out would be so far out! Now I don't know where the time went! There is nothing more satisfying than knowing I really have made a lifestyle change that will stay with me! Not only have I shed weight, I have been shedding my fears, my pains, my worries, my sin! God reclaimed me and I just decided to lose control and let Him have it again! Boy what a difference!!! God is blessing me and taking over every bit of my life. I owe it all to Him! What an amazing God! God is for us, not against us and He wants badly to make good of the harm satan wanted for us. If you haven't heard how great God's love is for us, then ask me, I'm more thank happy to share!

I finally received approval from my insurance for the surgery! I'm so very excited and can finally stop worring about it coming through for me.
I will be having surgery on Nov. 28th... just around the corner!!

I met with Dr. Crum last Thursday, Sept. 13th. The appointment went very well, not to mention how great the staff is! I truly enjoyed Dr. Crum. My insurance at Boys Ranch just barely started including the weight-loss surgery on our plan. Dr. Crum mentioned he was waiting on this approval but it is still a bit of mystery how the approval will go. Someone from Boys Ranch told Dawn that a board will be deciding approval. They believe they will mainly look at BMI. My BMI is over 50 at this time and should qualify me alone for the surgery. 

I was given a list of all the doctors I must go see so they can submit for approval of the surgery. I have all my appointments set up. I have to write up my diet history as well and give that to Dr. Crum. I should be done with everything by the first week of October. 

Dawn set up an anticipated surgery date of November 28th. I can't wait!!!

Last night I went to Dr. Crum's Seminar on the bypass surgery. I went in thinking that I knew a lot about the surgery and found out I have a lot more to learn. What I did learn put my worries at ease! There are a lot of people (even those who have had the surgery) that have given me false information and it was nice to sort it all out. Dr. Crum had a very straight-forward way of putting it all out there to understand.  He really stressed that this is a journey/marriage and will be life altering. This won't be easy but will be worth it. The success rates and the fact that it's 97% efective (for life) really makes the effort of qualifying worth it. 

I like what Dr. Crum said, "I'll give you 50%; the surgery will be a gift. You will have to give yourself the other 50% and follow the program."

I will not be going to the second seminar that focusses on the Lap-Band. I had my questions answered at his seminar and he addressed my issues and advised the RNY By-pass. I will be going to my consultation on Sept. 13th to meet with him in person and start the process to getting the surgery. 

Right now my concerns are in the insurance process. My insurance reads that it has to be medically necessary but I am not informed of the hoops will have to jump and time that it will take.
