Hey everyone! My name is Katie. I'm 20 years old. I've been overweight since I was five years old. About two years ago, my mom asked me if I would ever think about getting Weight Loss Surgery. I was kinda shocked that she asked me, but soon after we were making plans to go to seminars and get things started. I had a consultation and a psych evalution at St. Vincent in Carmel. My hopes were up and I was excited. Then I recieved a letter in the mail from my insurence company. I was Denied. I was crushed and all hope was lost. I kinda just forgot about it and moved on. About the first of June my mom mentioned it again. I said yes. We researched new doctors and places. Then I went to Dr.Trace Curry's informational meeting. I really liked him and his staff. They are all very friendly. I was looking into The Lap-Band, but then I told my mom I was more interested in Gastric Bypass. For the amount of weight I want to lose its the best. I have a surgery date!!! Its September 11, 2007. I'm excited, nervous, anxious, emtional, ready!! I would really like to talk to people on here about what they're going through as well as me!
