Happy to report I'm doing great!

Mar 16, 2008

First off, i've been excersing like a lunatic but surprisingly i actually like it have lots of energy!  Hip Hip Horray! Best thing is that I went  back to work at my part time job at the mall since my surgery 1/25 and everyone was floored to see how much weight i had lost and how good i looked.  It showed how my hard work at excersing is really paying off!  I know I look at myself and do not see a drastic change but others do....needless to say I'm heading to the gym as we speak!!!!

I've calmed down! SOME

Mar 04, 2008

Hi all,
I came back from my post op appt with the nutrionist and she was not concerned at all that I've only lost 13lbs!  So I feel better.  I finally realized that my expectations were very high since the first go round my weight was flying off since I had more to lose so she explained that.  She helped me realize that 13lbs. in a month was pretty good and by summer I should be down 52lbs.  NICE!  As we all know the whole weight loss is frusterating and very hard, it has been a month full of only eating liquids to mushy food, to excersizing 3-4x per week giving up sodas, sweets, and red meat cold turkey.  I guess I expected more weight to come off considering all the stuff I have given up but I won't lose hope and continue to work just as hard to take off another 13lbs next month and so on.....

SLOW PROGRESS!

Feb 26, 2008

We'll it may not be a slow process for some but it is for me!  I guess I'm being a little unrealistic but no lie, I'm frusterated!  Prior to my revision I was at 262 and 4 weeks post op I'm only down 10lbs!  I guess I'm comparing it to my orignial surgery 10 years ago but I remember losing more than that in a month!  I'm on a strict 1000 calorie diet and doing deep water aerobics 3-4x per week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not fair only 10lbs....I do notice a huge change in the inches and the toning in my body but when I get on the scale I am pissed!  I was hoping like the first time to lose about 20lbs. per month....it's not fair.  I'll keep going of course on track but I'm still pissed!

News from the Doc!

Feb 06, 2008

Well I'm 2wks post op and doing great, I feel fine.  I went to my doctors followup appt and he explained what was done during surgery since they could not fit the lap band around my original pouch.  He explained that they revised the pouch and made it smaller, even though my pouch had not streached out dramaticly in 10yrs, they sutured the area that was streached out through the years.  In other words "i'm a guinea pig" they said they dont' really see very many patients like me and they are interested to see what my progress will be but they assured me that my new pouch holds the same amount of food that the lap band patients hold and I'm feeling full when I consume 1/4 cup of food.  I've lost about 12lbs. in 2 weeks so somethings working!  Wish me luck!

had my revision on friday the 25th and unfortunatley they could not place the lap band around my pouch from 10yrs ago, they did however make my pouch smaller than it is now.  I will have more info when I go to my first checkup appt as to what to look forward too, i'm hoping to get similar results!
