Donald A. Balder

"I FINALLY met the infamous Dr. Balder a couple of weeks ago. Everything everyone had told me about him was true- he is very courteous and informative. Dr. Balder is young but from what I have been told by those who have had their surgeries with this doctor, he is definitely a competant doctor. Many have said that he is straight to the point, maybe lacking a little in the bedside manner category, but I found him to be very personable. He actually joked around with me some which put me at ease. I also have to give a nod to Angie, his nurse. I can already tell that she is a very compassionate woman who will be there for me, no matter how much I will be whining and complaining! For those considering Dr. Balder or Dr. Anderson, Angie holds a monthly support group which I find is essential to us whether pre-op or post. I am (so far) extremely satisfied with the surgeon (and his staff) that I have chosen!...**UPDATE** Though I still think Dr. Balder is a great surgeon, I am finding that his aftercare isn't the best. I am now 6 months post op and he doesn't plan on seeing me again until my 1 year anniversary. Granted I have had NO problems, my concern is that he still has not checked my bloodwork. I will find a local PCP to keep an eye on me, but it bothers me that they do not keep up on something so important. I feel that they are taking on too many new patients and not concentrating on the posties (also commented by other patients). Its apparent that his office needs to hire more staff or at least stop taking new patients. I literally felt like cattle the last two times I was in there- they get ya in, weigh ya (which in my case they have my starting weight wrong by 9 pounds which annoys me), ask the basic questions out ya go! I am extremely glad I chose Dr. Balder, I just wish he would re-evaluate his aftercare."

Carolina Hospital

"I have to comment about the financial part....I received a call just after I returned home about the bill. They gave me a 20% discount and have put me on a payment plan for the remainder (8K) of ONLY $59 a month!!!!!....I only wish Carolina's was closer to my home so if need be, the rest of my family could be treated there. I would definitely recommend this hospital."

David Allen

"I was referred to Dr. Allen through my surgeon's nurse. Dr. Allen called me back himself to set up the appointment. He required that I pay up front and he would file the claim and would refund anything if necessary. I was in shick when he told me that the appointment would only cost $80!! The appointment only took about 20 minutes and consisted of basic questions about my family and about the surgery. He was very personable and I definitely felt at ease. To make this experience even better- he sent over my evaluation THE SAME DAY!!! I highly recommend Dr. David Allen. "
