Donald Jacobs

"I have an appointment with Dr. Jacobs on Friday, May 2nd for an initial consultation. I am very excited and can't wait to meet with him to get the ball going towards an actual surgery date. I have spoken with Becky in Dr. Jacobs office on numerous occassions. Becky is wonderful! She is very polite, professional and personable. She ALWAYS returns phone calls very timely. I can tell you she is probably sick of me calling to ask questions, but she NEVER shows it. She seems to answer questions with a smile. My impression of Dr. Jacobs is quite simply he is a very caring and concerned human. I loved the way he approached our initial consultation. It was extremely educational, yet conversational and laid back. He was very clear about the benefits as well as the risks of surgery. He made my husband and I feel very comfortable. I had met with a few other surgeons, but after meeting with Dr. Jacobs I knew for sure he was the one I wanted to trust my life with. The one thing I didn't really care for though was we met in the Surgery Center at HCMC which is very "instituational" looking and shares space with Urgent Care. A very full Urgent Care. I didn't like going to my 2 week follow up with an open wound and sharing space with a bunch of sick people. I was very careful not to touch anything in the waiting area and I didn't sit down at all until I got back to the exam room. The look of the facility doesn't really "bother" me so much... it's the fact it was a shared waiting room. I have to say, everyone who works there was a delite to meet and work with! I have not had a negative experience at his office, nor did I have a negative experience at the hospital. I enjoy chatting with Becky and have to include that she has gone above and beyond in answering my questions, returning phone calls and corresponding via email. I feel very confident in both Dr. Jacobs surgical competence and his wonderful bedside manner. He comes across genuinely concerned for me as a patient and a person. "
