Ok well I will make it short and sweet. It has been just over 6 months or so I started at 340 lbs and I am at 199 as of this morning. Hell I cant remember when I was 1 anything let alone 200. So ya I am really happy. I have started playing hockey again and I am coaching my sons team in Lapeer. I am so glad my friend Skylarblu is doing great also. If you do read this we still have to go to kathy's or the park downtown for a coffee or water. Ok enough for now piece......

Ya ya I know I procrastinate. I should start up a procrastinators anonymous group but I think I will do that at a later time. Ok I had my surgery on March 21 and everything has gone great I came home on Friday the 23. I have learned how to get the gas that is built up inside out ,and have learned what my somewhat full mark is. I have been on a few nice long walks with my  Wife and kids so I think everything is going well. I have not had any pain meds since the 22 so that is a bonus also.. Ok well enough for know..

Well today at 2pm I got a phone call from a P.A. from Hurley saying that Dr. Obieid will not be preforming any surgeries this week due to a family emergency. So I guess I will wait to hear back from the Bariatric Center on what to eat since I have been on the two week liquid diet and it looks as if I will be on it for at least on more week and then I might be able to have surgery by next Monday.

Well today was somewhat trying when I made dinner for the kids. Only eating what is on the liquid diet is starting to piss me off. At least when I am drinking a strawberry shake and making pizza for the kids. But I did not cheat, it was tempting though. My kids are really great when it comes to  supporting my decision. But  I really want it to be done.

Hello all well it is my first blog so here it goes. I am 41 and work at Wright and Filippis in Flint. I make Prosthetic limbs for patients who have lost a limb or body part due to an accident or disease. I also make Orthotics for patients who need brace's for Polio,C.P., Or just have sore feet. It is a very rewarding carrier to see someone come in not being able to walk and leaving walking under there own power, still gives be goose bumps. I am married to my best friend Dawnn who is an R.N. at Genysis Hospital. We have two sons, Jordan who is 11 and plays a Fender Strtocastor, Payton who is 6 and plays hockey for Ice Mountain Banshee's and my daughter Kirsten who is 16 months old.
I have been going through the ropes ( red tape) of the bariatric nightmare for about a year know. It was never a problem with insurance as I have Health Plus and everything had to be done (phyic eval, blood work etc..) before I could even see any bariatric surgeon. I just had problems having to have to call my Dr. and have things faxed to the Hurley Bariatric Center. I just fell through about every crack there was but I will not go any farther as everything is going well now.
I am on day five of my two week liquid diet. Just to let you know the shakes/puddings are ok as is the hot soups. BUT the iced tea with lemon and fiber taste like ass ( I ) ! So you might want to try something different. And yes I am very hungry on around 420 cals. and about 2 liters of water. But I know this is all supposed to help out with the surgery.
