one week post-op

I can't believe it's already been a week since my surgery. I didn't even need pain meds when I came home. I'm starting to feel "normal" again. Although I do get tired pretty fast. Just taking a shower is an effort.
I've lost 5 pounds this week. A total of 30 since 9/1/8. I can see a big difference in my face,arms, legs and my back, it's so weird. I catch myself looking into the mirror when I walk by. Is that really me??
I'm not doing all that great with getting my liquids in. But,I'm working on it and I am getting in broth and cream of wheat.
It's funny how your stomach reacts to food when it hits.
This is all a work in progress. I am determined to follow the guide lines that have been given to me to be successful.
I look forward to the coming weeks. I am excited about the big changes that are happening to me.

I am so excited. Only 5 days after attending the information meeting and passing in all my paper work. I got a call to set up my pre-op appoinment with my surgeon. My appointment is 6/11/08

My journey started with my labs and ekg on 6/11/08. My Xray was on 6/12/08. My over night pluse oximetry was on 6/12/08. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. I do the sleep study on 6/19/08. My computer testing is on 6/18/08. The day after my over night study, I get to go right into my upper GI on 6/20/08. On 6/30/08 I have my pulmonary function test. My visit with the psychologist is on 7/11/08. My last appointment is on 7/15/08 for excercise & nuturtion. My surgery will be sometime in September.

I had my computer test today, and while I was there, they asked if I could change my appointment with the psychologist from 7/11/08 to 6/20/08..I quickly said yes. So after my sleep study on thursday night 6/19, and my upper Gi at 9:15 on the 20th, I'll meet with the psychologist. I love crossing things off of my to do list.
