My journey is just like many of the stories I have read. I have been overweight for most of my life. I haven't seen numbers under 200 lbs. since I was a young girl. In 2004, I decided to stop the battle of the buldge and have the LapBand. The first two and half months were great, I lost 50 lbs. One day everything changed when I found a lump in my breast. The doctors figured it was nothing since I was only 28 at the time. God is good! It was breast cancer (estrogen positive). I praise God because if it wasn't for him giving me the ability to have the surgery and lose the weight, I may not even be here. I was at stage 3. The doctors stated that my weight of 331 lbs. was just masking the lump. I give God the glory! Well after long treatments of chemo and radation my weight loss slowed down. Over the next 2 years, I lost 90 lbs with a lot of hard work. Well my health and my weight has turned around. I have now gained 52 lbs back and I have extreme reflux and hbp. I have been told by two doctors to have the band removed due to the problems that I am having. Well this is where the journey begins once again, my revision to RNY is scheduled for June 25th...
