It has been a very long journey for this process, but well worth it! I actually started about 7 or 8 years ago, with the same surgeon and when I was to go for my initial visit he no longer accepted my insurance. Well since I had so much family opposition, I just let it go. Then about 10 years ago, the idea and opportunity came up again and this time I ran with it. I started in October of 2007 with my initial visit and my trip to my primary care doctor. They put me on a diet before I actually went to see the surgeon and in hindsight, it was Gods work. I got the ball rolling and I have been fast paced since.
At the beginning of the year, I did have a missed appointment with the nutritionist which I really did not think much about at the time because I was so busy at work. Of course, you know that it caught up with me in April when I thought that I was down to my last month and trying to get my last few papers in order. I spoke wiith the Bariatric coordinator and found out that I had to start my 3 month over. So my last month became my 1st month and boy was I bummed. I kept on going as I saw a light at the end of the rainbow. I had this grand plan that I would have everything done by May, It would go the the insurance co. by the end of May or beginning of June. I would be approved no later than the end of June and I could have my surgery in July and be "up and at um" before I have to go back to work in August (teacher). Well needless to say that version did not happen and here I am, my paperwork went in 7/7/08 and I am sitting on pins and needles hoping that I can still get this done before I go back to school.
GOD works in his time not Ours!
