First Fill

Jun 17, 2008

I had my first fill May 13th. I t went smoothly. Although my port shifted and the MD had a hard time finding it. It took about 10 minutes. But then things went ok. I have felt any pain since the fill and the since of fullnest it there but I still get hungry. So I eat light snacks. We had a week of 90 plus weather and iece tea and milk shakes caused me to gain the three pounds I lost. I was very disappointed in myself. No CALORIC LIQUIDS. But I hate the taste of splenda and the other sweetners. So it's just water for now. Food hasn'r been a problem I can find enough variety to stay on track.

SECOND FILL
June 13th second fill the MD couldn't find the port apprently my port is a little deep. He saids it will be more accessible as the weight drops. It took 3 trys and I only got 1cc. I don't feel any different. No change in fullness I can still eat most things. No cheaping with the sweet drinks. I have upped my exercise to 45 minutes form 30 mins every other day. weight drop 2 lbs in 3 days. I was told the lab is a slower process and to give it time. I would like to see better results. I'm a little discouraged.

Three Months Post-Op - Band Surgery

May 10, 2008

I am a 45 woman and have been over weight for 25 years. I had the surgery 3/11/08 I have lost 22 lbs so far. I was coming off very fast the first 8 weeks. Now I work for every pound. I have not had my first fill yet that will be 5/15.
Find good soft food wasn't easy and during the last 2 weeks I have had problems swallowing things like bread. So I avoid anything very dense and chew a lot. My family is supportive but being from the south they always try to feed me.  After 12 weeks I still have soreness at the port site and I can feel the pain where the band is when I eat too much, that can be very painful.
