First time on site

Mar 13, 2009

This is my first time on the site.  I have been considering the lap band surgery for bout 6 months. My mom had a friend who did it and she looks great. It doesnt  seem as drastic as the others I have heard about. my story is simple I started gaining weight when i was round 16 or 17. I went from 120 to 185 in like 6 months, not because I was eating wrong. I was diagnosed with PCOS poloysistic ovarian syndrome. I think i spelled that right. I was boarder line diabetic for  a year or so and the last time i ent back they said i wasnt anymore. Which makes no sense i had gained weight. I did the phentermine diet pills for a while and I lost bout 70 lbs but gained it all back. with pcos i store my insulin i dont use it so i gain weight. i was always really small and i cant go ne longer with being big. I wear a size 18 pants ans it kills me. my husband says he likes me the way i am but im not happy with the way that i am. i cry bout it some times cause i am so unhappy with it, and i dont know what to do. I have told my husband that i am interested in the lap band but he tells me that i am wanting to take the easy way out. to me its not that it is the easy way but it would make the losing weight process easier for me and i would have boundaries. i dont know . i want to do it so bad and i have good insurane. i think that they would cover it . thanks for listening..
