October 2010 Update

Nov 02, 2010

Wow, it has been FOREVER since I have been on here!!!  I thought I better update by profile so everyone would know what was going on with me.  I have been doing AWESOME!! I have lost 160 pounds so far and feel wonderful.  Life has not been any better.  I can do so much with my family now.  We went to Six Flags Over Georgia this past month and I rode everything I wanted to with no problems.  I have so much more energy and stamina it's unbelievable. God is so good!!!
As far as my diet, I am still eating protein protein protein!! I have not had one drink of a pop (soda) since before surgery nor have I had a bite of bread, rice or pasta.  NO SIMPLE CARBS!!! YEA!!  That is my personal choice because I was a carbaholic and feel it's in the best interest.  I don't miss them and probably will never eat them again.  I do get carbs from my protein bars, fruits and veggies though.  I just don't eat starchy simple carbs.  It truly has empowered me to stay off them this long.  It's been 1 and a half years since surgery...WOW!!  It has flown by but I've loved the ride.  Losing is slower but I haven't gained and to me that is something to be extremely happy about!!!!!  Well, I better get off here and get on with life.  I hope everyone is doing well and keeps up the good work.  Also to those still waiting for surgery I pray your dreams come true and as I always say " With God All Things Are Possible"!

update...

May 02, 2009

Ok, so it's  been a month since my surgery.  I am doing very well.  I haven't had any problems with tolerating foods.  No sickness..YEA!  Yesterday I went to my OB/GYN and they weighed me.  On their scales I have lost 33 lbs since surgery.  I was so happy!  I don't go back to Dr. Nease's office until the 15th of May so I will see how much I have lost on their scales at that time.  It's been a good journey and I am just taking one day at a time.  I need to start exercising ASAP!  I could list all my excuses but they are just that excuses.  I just need to get MOVING!!!!  Well that's what's up so far and I will continue to update you all!!  Have a great weekend!!

Post op

Apr 02, 2009

Ok so March 30th was the big day.  I went in at 10am and 30 minutes later the Doc came out to talk to my family.  I wasn't a candidate for RNY because my liver was too large and fatty.  So the options were to do nothing and close me back up or do a Gastric Sleeve.  So I had the gastric sleeve.  I'm 3 days out and doing very well (I think anyways).  Just trying to get my water and protein in today.  The feeling of fullness is so strange but I totally "listen" to it because I definitely don't want to get sick right now.  I can't wait to get my drain out.  Dr. Nease said I was a " tough girl" and was doing great!!  I think he thought I was tough because I didn't take any pain medciations and still haven't .  I just have a high pain tolerance.  I have been so blessed to get this opportunity.  The Lord has been so good to me and my family and friends are so supportive!!  I just thought I would update you all....God Bless, Jo
