I called my Doctor and told her about my trouble eating and drinking water and the pain I am having. She called back with in 5 minutes and I am having an upper GI tomorrow morning just wants to make sure everything is ok..

Sorry I have not updated before now. I have lost 35 pounds since I started my 2 week pre-op diet!

My surgery went well, It took about 3 hours and they also took out my gall bladder. I had a lot of drainage the first 2 times I got out of the bed Tuesday so they put me on bed rest. One Wednesday I had my swallow test and everything was fine so I was able to sip a few ounces of water, that was the best thing to happen. My throat was so dry it was great to be able to swallow water.

I was able to come home on Thursday. The pain was worse than I thought it might be, but the pain meds helped.

It has been a lot harder to get my protein and water in. I knew it would be hard but did not know it would be this hard.

This has been the best thing I have done, my only regret is that I waited this long to have my RNY.

I have been n the pre-op diet for 10 days now. Tomorrow I start a liquid diet for the 2 days before my surgery. I can not believe how fast the time has gone!! It seemed so far off now its just a few days away.

I have surprised myself on the diet. I have stayed on it except for two olives I had one night. In the back of my mind I keep saying I would love to go out to eat tonight, maybe get some crab cakes, cheese cake, but then I keep telling myself this is getting me ready for the next chapter in my life on eating right and getting my weight off and keeping it off.

I am ready for the new adventure that is about to start!

I can not believe that 9 days from now I will be out surgery! I can't believe how fast the time has flown. The pre-op diet is going well, have not had anything that I was not to eat. The nut chewed me out when I had gained 10 LBS since I saw her 5 months ago. Said I had to follow the diet to the T, so thats what I have been doing. I am uping my walking every day. I am trying to walk so different place, went downtown yesterday. I might started walking dt more often.

I still have to get my info for my medical poa, poa, living will and my will to my uncle he is a lawyer so he is taking care of all of that for me, just have to email him everything today. I keep putting that off, its something I know needs to be done, but don't like the thought of doing that.

I am just over 3 weeks before my surgery. I took some before pics and posted them on my profile. I am Starting to follow the pre-op diet for most of the day, dinner I am still doing what ever. I have a few "last dinners" coming up plus we are having a about 30 people over for my sister inlaws Birthday. We are celbrating a little early, its not until after my surgery, but I wanted to enjoy it plus I have to make her a caraml cake, and I want to enjoy that one last time.

I got a call today saying that they needed to chang my pre-op appointment. They wanted me to go tomorrow, but  I am in training at work. When I told them that th nurse said well we can change your surgery, the next time would be in Dec., so I am going tomorrow afternoon. I guess I will get all the nitty gritty on my surgery!

I have my next appointment with the nut on Oct 7 and my pre-op at the hospital on Oct 14, then the big day is Oct 21!

Wll I have made it to the one month count down! a month from now my surgery will be over and I will be on my way to being a big loser!

I have started packing away my summer clothes that will never be worn by me again and bringing some of my smaller clothes out of storage. Some I have not been able to wear in years, a few still even have the price tags attached!

I am going to take Ann's advice and start doing the pre-op diet a couple of days before I actually start to get myself ready and be a sucessful loser.

I felt like I had to much time until my surgery to get everything done, now the time is flying by and I still have so much too do.

I have to update my will, get a medical POA, living will and a POA.

I start my 2 week pre op diet in 3 weeks and then my surgery is 5 weeks from today. I can't believe how fast the time is going. I am getting a little nervous but I am ready for my big day and starting a new life!

The Vena Cava Filter was placed in yesterday. The Dr went in my neck. I Think it took him about 10 minutes, I laid there waiting for him longer than it took. I was awake, which I was not counting on. The worse part was getting the IV and then staying in the hospital for four hours after it was over.

I got a call this morning that I am ahving an I D Cscreen placed on Friday. my Dr had said they would do this a few weeks before my Surgery so I was thing great I will have my WLS in  few weeks. Later today I got a call to call and set up my date, I did and Trinsta said you are not going to like me, the first date I have is in Oct. So my date is October 21, 2008. I have been a little bummed that it is over two months away! But atleast I have a date now!
