I am going to try to be a little more active on this site.  I am down 101 pounds.  YAY!  I still hope to lose about 30 more pounds.  I am really kicking up my workout regime.  I generally do 30-45 minutes a day on my eliptical trainer and I have a series of workout DVDs, my favorite being Carmen Electra's stripper Aerobics( too funny!).  I also try to make it to the gym at least 3 times a week for more intense strength training and the occasional raquetball match.

I am five days away from surgery and going back and forth between extreme excitement and a bit of nervousness. I have been told so many encouraging things by people who have had the surgery and I am very lucky to have such a supportive family and group of friends. I am going to be away from my husband and daughter for Mother's Day and this bums me out a bit. I am flying to LA to have the procedure done. My surgeon does all the pre op stuff in my area but the actual surgery takes place in LA. It would be easier if I were closer to home. I am not anticipating the trip back, although I will be thrilled to be on the other side of surgery. My husband thinks we will save a ton of money since we won't be eating out as frequently. I laughed at this. Saving money? I doubt it. I am already a clothes whore. Once I start losing weight, the money I spend on clothes is going to go through the roof. Ok I am rambling now. Will update after the surgery. :)

I haven't updated since my surgery. I had a very scary experience and I was hesitant in posting because I don't want to scare pre-ops that might come upon my page. My bad experience wasn't due to the surgery itself, but due to an allergic reaction I had to morphine after the surgery. I went into respiratory distress the day after surgery and was on life support for 8 days. I woke up and over a week had passed and I had no idea what was going on. I couldn't walk, feed myself, or do much of anything that requird coordination. I had to begin physical therapy. I had pneumonia which lessened into bronchitis. It was a very trying time. However, now I feel great, and I have no regrets. I am glad I found out about my allergy during elective surgery as opposed to needing morphine due to something life threatening. I have lost 33 pounds and I have so much energy now. My outlook on food has changed drastically and for me that is one of the most important things. My food obsession pre-op was really scaring me. I am excersizing daily and I am really excited about the future and what is to come.
