I'm now on the bench!
Jan 27, 2009
Well Friday January 23rd, 2009 I joined the losers bench. I arrived at the hospital about 5:15 and Amy got me back at about 5:30 to my room. They got me changed and on my gurney and hooked up to the IV's pretty quickly. At about 7:30 they took me back for surgery, which the OR is just about 20 feet away. They got me on to the OR table and comfortable and the anesthesiologist said we will see you in a little while and that was the last thing I remember. I woke up in recovery pretty groggy and didn't really realize what was going on. They took me immediatly back to my room to be with my family. I am pretty clueless as the the first couple hours thereafter since I was in and out of sleep episodes but by noon I was up and about taking my first walk. The first night was a little uncomfortable but was manageable. The staff of WW and Foundations Bariatric Hospital are wonderful. You really feel like you are part of the family and they are there to help you recover. I have Diet class on Monday, February 2nd so that will be my first weigh-in and will soon be eating mushies. I can't wait I am starving.

Getting Nervous!
Jan 20, 2009
Well here I am now little over 2 days and I will be having surgery. I can't believe it is already here. I know we all start to have those weird emotions and you have those second thoughts but I know this will change my life and make me have my life back. I have been a slave to obesity for 15 years and it is time to start living again.
Wish me luck,
Jeremy

Change in date!
Jan 09, 2009
Well I went to my pre-op yesterday (lost another 5 lbs since monday
) Everything went well only problem was when Cheryl got in the room I was informed that Dr. B was not going to be around on the 19th. When Cheryl and I were talking about an alternative Dr. B came in with his cell and work out a date with us. So now I am scheduled for January 23. Not many Docs would have taken the extra time to figure this out with the patient adv. and patient. He went above and beyond to work it out for me so I don't have to wait. I have much thanks and Kudos to give out to Dr. B.

My Story
Dec 17, 2008
As many people on these boards I have struggled with my weight for quite some time. One thing that may set me apart from others is the fact when I graduated from High School I was quite thin. Only problem was that I played basketball from the time I was old enough to dribble the ball and played everyday thereafter. When I went off to college and kept the same diet I had as an athlete I started gaining the weight. I sometimes view it as I spent half of my life trying to gain weight and now I have spent half my life trying to loose. I hit an all time high this year at 361 lbs and became completely fed up with diet failure. Loosing weight just toregain the weight each time I lost and even more on top of that. I finally decided to start researching weight loss surgery. I attended a seminar at Weight Wise in Edmond and was convinced that VSG was the route for me. The staff and doctors really are passionate about the life changing services they are providing and their success rate reinforces that passion. I have started my pre-op diet and have already met the goal set to be able to schedule surgery. I just have to wait till my next appointment January 8.
