Aurora Sinai Medical Center

"I wish I could remember the name of the nurse who was there on weekdays. He was really great. I liked having a private room."

Thomas Chua

"2/2/03 I had surgery Wednesday. Dr. Chua came in to see me beforehand assured me that he would take care of me. He came to see me breifly on the other days that I was in the hospital. He did not need to spend a lot of time with me because my surgery was not complicated. This is a testimony to his skill, since I have a BMI of 76, which can often make things difficult. 11/7/02 I had my first meeting with Dr. Chua today. I chose him because he has an excellent reputation and many years of experience. His main concern seemed to be that I am a self pay patient. He also asked tons of ?'s about my family's history of MO. (I guess he wants to know whether I have a genetic condition or am just a gluttonous pig.) There was not a lot of discussion about the surgery itself. Since my BMI is over 70, I knew a long time ago that my only option is distal Roux-en-Y with an open incision. Dr. Chua confirmed this.So far I have had no problems with the office staff. They are very nice. They are also extremely busy. When I went for my first appointment, I looked at the sign-in sheet and saw that Dr. Chua had appointments scheduled every 20 minutes. I guess that he is trying to help as many people as possible. "
