I am an Army Wife and the mother of three. My two oldest children have Mental Disabilities so life isn't always smooth around my home.
I've struggled with my weight my whole life! I was always the largest kid in the class and from where I'm from, even the teachers would make fun of you. When I was I Senior in High School, I had enough and went on a crash diet. I did the Adkins but often I wouldn't eat and I exercised a lot! I lost 60 lbs which I was able to keep off for a few months. The was the most signifigant weight loss I've ever had. I tried all the other diet's, pills, and weight loss guru's available!

After a visit to the doctor while we were stationed in Germany I was made aware of my condition, which is Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. This is an autoimmune thyroid disease in which the immune system attacks and destroys the thyroid gland. The thyroid helps set the rate of metabolism, which is the rate at which the body uses energy. Hashimoto’s stops the gland from making enough thyroid hormones for the body to work the way it should. One of the most common symptom's is Weight Gain. No matter how much weight I lost, it would come right but, usually plus some!

I made the decision to have Weight Loss Surgery in February 2009. I had finally had it after another failed atempt to loose weight. One year to the date I had my Roux-en-y surgery!
