Crazy stuff

When I first met my husband 13 years ago he weighed 100lbs. more than I. He's 6'0 I'm 5'-4. When I went in for surgery I out weighed him. I feel so bad cuz he's not a little man. Well its over 2 months out and he's well above me. I'm starting to feel normal again. How embarrassed he must have been.

New Cooking Habits

Well I used to spend hours in the kitchen preparing meals and would seriously eat the whole time. I nibbled myself to oblivion. Then I would eat an extremely large meal followed by the clean up. Clean up in my house is not only dishes and left overs but eating off of the kids plates too!
I'm proud to say I no longer practice those horrible habits. I'm in total shock at how much I used to consume. My husband is seriously impressed.

7 weeks post op

Well I had my surgery at Day One Health Chicago Illinois @ 900 North Michigan Surgical Center. Everything went well. I had a hernia repair so Doc said I'd have a bit more pain. Boy he wasn't kidding. I wanted to die for the next week. Finally the pain was gone just like that. Well I did have my first BM in a week so I think that may have done it for me.
Weight loss has been slow but its going.According to my Doc he placed the band empty. I had my first fill @ 6 weeks. Wow! The band is doing it's job. I get that head hunger though. I want to eat even though I'm not physically hungry. I feel this will pass. I need to get my but moving to work out. I wake up every day and look in the mirror and look thinner every day, whether I lose lbs. or not. I must hang in there and stay motivated.

Well I'm approved. The only reason I know is that I have made several phone calls to my insurance people and to the REVIEW BOARD to get some answers. They tell me "oh yes you were approved on the 1st." Well it would have been nice if some one had let me know. So then I was told "We faxed the approval on the 1st to the insurance coordinator at your surgeon's office." I was told this just yesterday. No phone call no e-mail from them. So I asked for a fax copy to be sent to my house and then I forwarded it to the surgeon's office. No call no nothing. I'm soooo pissed the only person who seems to be prompt and courteous is the nutritionist. Really she is awesome. I have made several calls and e-mails to the insurance coordinator and she will not respond. I don't get it, if that was my business and some one who worked for me cared that little about my customers/patients they would be hitting the pavement. I'm not sure if I should call someone over her or even tell the surgeon. I'm afraid of retaliation or she could sabotage my case.

As of November 1st 2010 I have started my new life. I'm awaiting approval. I have all the requirements met per my insurance which is my union's plan (wish it paid more). I started the pre op liquid diet for lap-band. I'm confident everything will go well and they (clinic/surgeon) seemed to want to get the ball rolling fast. Keeping my fingers crossed.
