Today is the 3 year anniversary of my surgery. I wish I could say that my weight loss was quick and lasting but that is not the case for me. I lost a total of 65 pounds in the first year but have gained 25 back. It is a daily struggle and I have recently joined a weight loss group for support. I am able to eat everything and have had no complications. I struggle with my energy levels and tend to lean towards anemia. It has helped my diabetes and my PCP has cut my meds way back. My blood pressure has improved also. Would I do it again??? I think so. It has helped my medical conditions but as far as the weight loss goes I think the tool is not as effective for some as others. The first 8 months are the most important as far as immeadiate weight loss. You will never again see the dramatic losses that you see then. Dont get complacent. I thought I was doing a lot but in hind sight I should have been doing more. Good luck to all who choose this journey. It has definitely changed my life.
