Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!  Enjoy the day!!!

Wow, I can't believe that it has been 1 year since I have had my GBP surgery.  Time really seemed to fly by.  I have lost a total of 121.5 lbs, as of this morning.  It is just amazing.  I feel fantastic and am so much happier. 

A year ago, I couldn't have imagined how I would feel today.  I could never Thank all my doctors, family, and new OH friends enough for all of the support and what they have done for me.  I still have a bit that I would like to lose and I know that I can do it.  I just have to remember the basics and not get cocky.  I do think that I need to see the nutrionist for another refresher course.

I can't believe how much happier I am and how much more confident that I am.  It is just crazy and amazing.

Well, just wanted to pop in for a bit and update my blog.  I haven't touched base with everyone in some time.

Tomorrow I go back to see Dr. Wallace for my 9 month follow-up.  I can't believe that it has been 9 months since I had the surgery.  Wow, time sure has flown by.   So far so good with the surgery.  I am thankful that I have not had any complications thus far.  I can't believe how fantastic I feel and I grateful I am that I was able to have the surgery.

I am also have a procedure done on some of my veins in my left leg. It is scheduled to be done Wed. Nov 25th..the day before Thanksgiving.   I am having laser treatment a few of my veins in my left leg that have circulation issues. I forgot what the treatment is actually called.  The problems started when I got a blood clot in 2002.  The excess weight hasn't helped either.  Dr. Wallace and Dr. Isla will help to make the circulation improve eliminating any issues that I may have have in the future.

Well, I just wanted to stop in and give everyone a quick update.  I am finally in the 100's.........very exciting!!!

Just wanted to say that I am out of the 200's and into the 100's.....I am very excited.  I have lost 102.5 lbs.  I am about 45-50 lbs away from goal....so that is very exciting.   

Can't wait to see Dr Wallace this month.  I am going for my 9 month follow-up and he is going to discuss treatment for my left leg.  My veins are messed up due to a blood clot that I had in 2002.  We shall see what he says.

Morning all--Just wanted to pop in and say hi.  I am at the cusp of leaving the "obese" status on the Body Mass Index.  Very exciting. 

I am going to the Kane Center today.  Going to get an ultra sound on the veins in my left left.  They kinda pop outta my thigh.  I had a blood clot in 2002.  Doctors have said that the blood clot and the excess weight have pretty much caused this.  I just don't want it to get worse as I grow older. 

Next month I will be going for my 9-month post op visit.  I am shooting for make my 100# weight loss...we shall see.  At this time, Dr. Wallace will discuss the options for these veins.  From what he said, it is pretty much out patient laser surgery.  We shall see.

Well, on my way to the fitness center now and then I have errands to do.  My appt. is in the afternoon, so I hope to get some work done beforehand.

Wow, it has been so long since I have written.  I just had my 3 month post-op appointment last week.  All went well.  I am down 50 lbs.  Dr. Wallace says that I am on track with the weight loss.  I do wish it was more,,,but it is what it is.  I have been working out on a regular basis and actually feel very very good.

My blood work came back and I am deficient in Thiamin.   OK, so I am dificient in Thiamin, now you would think that they would be able to tell me what to take immediately...but I have to wait until this coming Monday (at the earliest).......I don't understand why it takes so long for the surgeon's office to get back to me.  Whatever.....

I am having to give some of my bigger clothes away already.  Man, that makes me feel good.  To be honest though, I really don't see a difference.  I have to really concentrate on how much I have lost and how my body has changed.  I have taken pictures, but when I look in the mirror, I don't see a difference.

I am so happy with my decision to have the surgery.

I am planning on going on vacation in both June and July.  I can't wait to get on a plane and (fingers crossed) fit in the seat without have to be in pain!!!

Well, I went back to work on Monday, February 9th (yesterday).  I was tired when I got home and I bit nervous about the eating process.....I just wanted to make sure that I didn't experience problems.  So far so good.  I go to see Dr. Wallace on Thursday for my 1 month post op visit. 

I will keep everyone informed of my progress.  At this point, I think that I have lost about 30 lbs.  I don't know if that is too slow or too quick....will talk with Dr. Wallace.

I had my drainage tube removed today.  Not as bad as I thought at all!!  It was a very weird feeling but it didn't hurt at all!!  I did get weighed and I believe that I lost somewhere between 13-17 lbs.  The reason that I don't really know is that I was too embarrased to actually find out my beginning weight. 

I am excited because tomorrow I begin the blended/pureed foods.  I hope that goes as well as the full liquid diet.  I really have had no problems or surprises. 

I still have to concentrate on eating slow and understanding my full feeling.

I continue to walk, walk, and walk as much as I can.  Right now it is easy because I haven't gone back to work yet.  I have to call Dr Pieta tomorrow because I need to talk to him about the removal of my IVC filter.  That needs to come out soon.  After that I should be free of the Lovenox shots!  I go back to see Dr Wallace on 02/12/09 for my 1 month appointment.

Well, I have just finished packing my bag for tomorrow.  I am starting to get a bit nervous.  I don't know if it is more the actual surgery or if I am nervous about the Post Surgical diet.  I just want to make sure that I am following the doctor's instructions to the letter.  I want to do everything right.............so I think that I am causing myself more stress than needed.  I think that I just need to chill a bit.
 
I started the clear liquid diet this morning and drank the Citric of Magnesium at 10:00 as instructed. 

I will post more when I get back from the hospital.
