I've never had a favorite poem(?writing? best word take your pick), but I recently saw the writing below and this is my first one.  (Another change, geting deep!  That's scarry (sp.?), what else can I expect? ) This writing has definitely made me think of the most wildest ride I've ever been on and am still on.  It started out slow 6 months ago and it's starting to pick up speed!(YIKES! that's both exciting and scarry (sp.).   I know this amazing ride (journey, adventure I have too many words to pick from) wouldn't have happened if GOD hadn't stepped in: changing my totally prejudiced mind against WLS; and opening doors to the right surgeon and staff (who assists greatly in the use).  A big question on my mind now, will I be able to recognize myself?  (Or will I be able to keep a small part of my old self?)

Our Greatest Fear —Marianne Williamson

it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other

people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of
God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

—Marianne Williamson

[Often said to have been quoted in a speech by Nelson Mandela. The source is Return to Love by Marianne Williamson, Harper Collins, 1992. —Peter McLaughlin]

Readers who take Williamson's words to heart risk developing lives regarded as eccentric. Apple, Inc., has forseen the possibility and offers this consolation in a video called "Here's to the Crazy Ones":
