10/24/08: I have always been the "bigger" girl in school & in my family. I lost my little brother 14 years ago this coming up November and have put on weight ever since then! I use food when I get bored and depressed!!! It eases my emotions!!! For the most part, my Dr. says I'm healthy as a horse, I'm just overweight. I have tried diet after diet and I will lose weight and then gain it back. I am tired of sitting uncomfortably in stadium seating & at the movies. I wanna be able to walk and not get outta breath, I wanna be able to walk outside and not sweat, I wanna not have to worry bout fitting in th booths at resturants or worry if the chairs will hold me, I wanna shop at "NORMAL" stores without the "PLUS SIZE" clothes. So, I went to a seminar for the LAPBAND surgery on October 15, 2008. I learned alot even though I showed up late. LOL...But anyways the next morning I called and scheduled my 1st consultation with Dr. Richard Collier. The first available appointment they had was for October 28,2008...4 Days away from today!!! I'm so excited, but yet so nervous. I will meet with him and go over EVERYTHING & ANYTHING about the surgery, Post-op DIET, pros & cons, just EVERYTHING. Then I will leave out of there and immediately call my family Dr. to schedule a physical & get my medical history! Then I will call the nutritionist to schedule my appointment with her. Hopefully I will get both appointments taken care of the days after seeing my LAPBAND surgeon!!! So, anywho that's enough for now. I will update when I get home from my consultation & every appointment & days leading up to the surgery & lots of update with pics after the surgery. Much love to everyone!!!! xoxoxo JEN
11/16/08: Hey Everybody...i Haven't Been On In Awhile!!! Well I Have Some Absolutely Great News...i Had My Consultation With Dr. Collier On October 28!!! It Went Great!!! He Told Me I Needed To Lose 10% Of My Body Weight Which Is 36lbs!!! The Very Next Morning I Met With Karen-my Dietician!!! I Got Started On My Diet That Day...i Dropped 9lbs In A Lil Over A Week...i Weighed In This Last Friday(13th) Again And Only Lost 2lbs This Time...but I Skipped A Couple Meals Because I Wasn't At Home & Didn't Wanna Eat The "bad" Foods Out...so I Just Skipped Them!!! Well She Went Ahead And Started Me On My Pre-op Diet!!! 11lbs Down & 25 To Go!!! So I Started On Saturday & My 1st Day Of It Went Awesome...i Had To Subs***ute Amaze Rx With Slimfast Low Carb Until Monday Because His Office Was Already Closed When I Was Finished In Her Office!!! So I Go Monday Morning To Get My Amaze Rx & Use That!!! I'm Super Excited...i Even Joined The Gym 2 Weeks Ago & I Go 5 Times A Week...i Just Do The Treadmill For Now For Cardio...i Have Done 3 Miles At The Most At One Time...it Takes Me A Lil Over An Hour To Do It...i'm So Sore & Wore Out From The Gym...but It's So Worth It...i Can Already Tell A Huge Change In My At***ude & Outlook On Life!!! It's Amazing!!! I Also Started Tanning Because It Helps Me To Feel Pretty!!! Boost My Confidence Level & I Need That So So Much!!! I Go Back To Weigh In On Tuesday 11/25 @ Dr. Collier's Office!!! So I Will Know More Then...i'm Hoping I Can Get My Paperwork(forms) To Go Get My Physical Done & My Medical History!!! I Can't Believe I'm So Close!!! I Know Thanksgiving Will Be Hard For Me, But I Just Keep Telling Myself It Will All Pay Off In The End & I Know That & Believe That!!! I Have So Much More Energy Too & It's Only 11lbs Gone!!! Gosh I Can't Explain How Much Happier I Am In The Last 2 Weeks...it's Crazy!!! But Anywho, Just Wanted To Update Everyone On Me!!! Can't Wait For My Next Update!!! LOVE YALL, JEN
11/18/08: WOW SO I WENT TO GET MY AMAZE RX FROM DR. COLLIER'S OFFICE TODAY & WE SCHEDULED MY SURGERY!!! DECEMBER 11!!! IT'S 3 WEEKS FROM THIS THURSDAY!!! SO HAPPY...JUST WANTED TO LETCHA KNOW!!!
12/2/08: WELL I DID MY WEIGH IN TODAY & HAVE LOST A TOTAL OF 18LBS...SO MY SURGERY IS 1 WEEK FROM THURSDAY...IT'S 8 DAYS AWAY & COULDN'T COME ANY FASTER...I'M SO READY FOR THIS DAY TO COME!!! I HAVE WAITED YEARS & IT'S FINALLY HERE...MY NEXT UPDATE WILL BE MY SURGERY DAY, SO UNTIL THEN KISSES & WISH ME LUCK!!!
