Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

May 16, 2002 I had to fight tooth and nail to get my PCP to schedule me an ultra sound to have in hand when I go for my initial consult with Dr Snyder on the 28th. Finally, she set me up an appointment for the 26th, on a Sunday before my appointment on Tuesday. She is trying so hard to sabotage this surgery because she tried to talk me out of pursuing it and I went against her advice and wishes. So I will have had the ultra sound but will not be able to have it in hand when I see my surgeon. I will not change PCP's until I am on the other side, but as soon as I have my surgery, its all over but the shouting. When I went to see her for a regular appointment last week because of the excruciating pain in my hip, she said there was nothing more she could do for me without taking an MRI and she couldn't do that because I was too fat to fit in the machine. (Swear to God, those were her exact words.) So she gave me tylenol w/ codeine which doesn't even touch the pain, and only a 30 day supply for something that has been ongoing and chronic for the past three years. But I am getting excited about my upcoming date with destiny. Now if my insurance will only co-operate, I might actually have a shot at a new life.
