26 months out and 152 lbs. lighter

Mar 27, 2010

I feel great.  I have not kept up on this site as I should have, but I will try to post more often.  I feel like a new person.  I lost really 154 lbs, but these last eight pounds fluctuate.  I try to eat like I should, but sometimes I cheat a little.  All in all, I eat a lot healthier than I once did.  Still haven't vomited since surgery over two years ago.  But I do get nauseous if I eat too much or too fast.  This surgery has been a life changing experience for me.  I love my new life.  However, there are times when I still feel fat and ugly.  And when this happens, I look in the mirror and tell myself, I look a lot better than I did two years ago.

I love shopping for new clothes now.  Have actually managed to get into a few small tops, but mostly medium and large.  SIze 8 pants are a long way from a size 26.  So I can't complain there.  I still have loose skin, but am trying to get to the gym more often.  It just doesn't always happen.

One of the most exciting things that has happened since my surgery is I now work part time for Victoria's Secret.  To me it is an honor to be offered a job there at my age.  And I would never have dreamed I would ever work there.  I feel sexy and of course I get lots of sexy underclothes, too.   This really helps my ego, when I feel fat and ugly.  I am now 44 years old and have been called a hottie and eye candy for the first time in 26 years... It feels awesome!!!

Oh, and as a reward for losing the weight, I bought myself a convertible...I am loving life....

3 Months Out and 60 lbs. Lighter

Apr 27, 2008

I feel great.  It's been three months and I've lost 60 lbs.  I haven't vomited yet.  I still get really nauseous if I eat something too sweet.  But if that's the worst I will feel, that's fine by me.  I worry about my protein, of course.  However, I use the GNC punch flavored liquid protein.  It tastes great!  Like koolaid.  I got tired of the milk drinks.  I encourage anyone to try this.  And remember at GNC you can return it opened within the first 30 days for a full refund.

Well, it's been two months now, and I'm doing great!  I've lost 47 lbs.  I hit a plateau there for about 10 days, but I started going back to Curves and that has really made a difference.  I have only dumped a few times, of course from trying to eat something I shouldn't.

I went to my first support group meeting tonight and it was very interesting and helpful.  I met lots of interesting people and learned a few things too.

I haven't bought any new clothes yet.  However, I have lots in several sizes down.  It's nice to pull something out in a smaller size and know it finally fits.  I'm so looking forward to this summer!!

12 days out and doing great!

Jan 23, 2008

Well, so far so good.  I have been doing really well.  I tried to eat cream corn yesterday and that made me a little uncomfortable.  But I haven't experienced any vomiting yet.  Just a small amount of nausea.  I feel I am doing great.  I take pain meds only at night, because I sleep on my stomach.  I tried to go without them, but awoke in a lot of pain.  Other than that, all is well.  I've heard people say they can't get all their protein in daily.  I am not having any problems, so far.  I have found K2O water has 5 grams and a protein supplement powder called "Unjury" has 23 grams, which I mix with skim milk and carnation instant breakfast (SF) and that gives me 36 grams per shake.  I drink 2 daily plus count the protein  in my food and drink some of the water and I've got it.  The doctor said as long as I get the protein and B12 in my body, I shouldn't lose any hair.  I've cut mine off so short until I can't take a chance of losing any of it.  Well, let's see how the next few days go....

I've finally done it and am glad I did.  It wasn't as bad a I thought it would be.  I am still sore and a little weak at times, but I don't have to take pain meds very often.  I'm really nervous, now.  I've been told it's hard to get all the protein consumed daily, but I've been investigating and found a shake that has 50 grams of protein.  So I'm going to try that and see if it works.  I have been out of bed quite a bit since I got home.  Today,  I even climbed the stairs a few times.  I did gain about 14 lbs while in the hospital, from all the fluids the put in me.  But I've lost about 12 lbs since then so tomorrow I should start seeing a difference.  I have been constipated a little too, but other than that I'm doing okay for now.

I've finally got my date set for January 11, 2008.
