Well where do i start...Im 24 years old with 3 children. I have been overweight for almost my entire life and I have thought about the gastric bypass everyday since my mom had it done 2 years ago. The main reason I am wanting this done is for my health and my family. I dont want to end up like my aunt who was very obese and died 2 years ago for obesity related problems. I want to be able to run and play with my kids without getting out of breath. Its geting harder and harder for me to run up and down the stairs and i have a very bad back from being overweight. I currently weigh 255 and 5'3. I started researching the gastric bypass about a year ago but was to afraid to go to my doctor for help. I have tried every diet pill imaginable and have had very little results. The most I lost was 30 lbs but gained that right back. Well after having my 3rd child i decided i wanted all the weight to be gone. All those years of being picked on and called some very mean names i want it all to change! I dont want my kids thining its ok to be overweight jus because mommy is. I want them to grow up healthy.
On August 18th I finally got up the nerve to ask my doctor for help. I explained to her that i have tried EVERYTHING imaginable and that nothing has worked for me. well that day she ran a few test and found out my thyroid was not working properly so she put me on pills for that, and in a month i returned to get the levels checked and that when i got the referal to the obesity clinic in wilkes-barre, pa. The soonest appointment that they had was for December 19th so i took it even though it was 2 months away. so now im just getting exciting and nervous about my 1st appointment. well i will update this when i go to the Dr's in 3 weeks.

Well didnt make it to the 1st appointment last month because of the snow. So now I had to wait until the middle of feburary til i get another chance. I was so upset that i couldnt make it up to wilkes-barre but at least my next appointment is in 4 weeks and hopefully get the ball rollin! Ill come back and update this when i get some more updates!
