i weighed yesterday and had lost another 3 lbs. i was very excited, but it took until this morning for me to realize what that meant....i have lost 100 lbs!!!!

I haven't blogged since December. I have some catching up to do....I had RNY on March 17, 2009. I am 3 months out and down 63 lbs. ! I am excited about my progress, but haven't been so excited about the whole process to get here. Everyone asks me if I'm happy I had the surgery, and I can't honestly say yes. I researched for months before making a decision on which procedure, which doctor, etc. ....I don't think anyone can be completely prepared for life after surgery. I did not realize how depressed I would get, and I'm generally a happy person. I physically felt horrible for at least the first month, and mentally still have moments where I'm wondering what in the world have I done to myself. I know it's only been 3 months, and I have a long journey ahead of me. I keep telling myself to be patient. I am a caregiver, not a patient. That alone has been a challenge. So for those of you contemplating surgery, talk to your doctor about the emotional aspect of life after surgery.
On to brighter subjects....
I was able to try on clothes at normal stores in the mall last week. That was a wonderful boost for my mood!!
My shoe size has gone down 1 size, and no more wide widths!
I am in ONEDERLAND! I never thought I would be able to say that about myself.
I was told I look younger! Wow!
Okay, maybe I'm getting to the point where I'm glad I had this done!!

i'm 10 months into my journey toward surgery....and i'm so tired of jumping through hoops for insurance. i've done everything asked of me plus some, and still i wait for surgery. the whole process is overwhelming...purposefully? i think so. maybe some day, i will be scheduled....till then, i wait.
