I'm 6 days into the pre-op liquid diet and 8 days away from my surgery. It's very surreal to be typing that, I've waited so long and I'm half scared something will happen to delay it or prevent it. I'm also freaking out a bit, not about the surgery itself but the huge life change it will mean. This is what I want, but I'm fully aware that change is hard.

The liquid diet is getting old though. I had a choice of Slim Fast High Protein or Boost Glucose Control. Getting the powdered SFHP was the cheapest option as I am not working right now and can't toss $$ away for the convenience of RTD shakes. I'm not sure why my surgeon uses these particular brands, maybe for the avaliablity of the products, but I'd much rather adhere to a strict atkins plan then milk based shakes, but I have lost some weight already, my jeans are fitting looser. 

Had my consult with Dr. H. Scheduled my pre-op stuff and set a tentative date of March 8th for surgery!! Yea! I hope things work out with insurance to make that date firm as it occurs during spring break and will reduce the chances of me missing class for my recovery. 

Half way through my supervised diet! Yeah! I have lost some weight, down from a size 36 jean to 30/32.  I also completed my psych eval today, there's an irrational fear that I'll come away Schizophrenic or something. LOL As soon as I get my insurance card (a replacement for the one I lost) I will submit a copy, plus Dr. Hornbostel's intake package and hopefully a copy of my psych eval as well as my documentation from weight watchers. Hopefully then I can get schedule to be seen.
