3 weeks out

Jun 12, 2007

well, i am 3 weeks out now and i have lost 18 lbs. while that is good, i am a little disappointed. i thought i would lose more weight than that in this time frame. oh well. i will keep plugging away at the diet and excercise and hope my body starts waking up.
the first couple of weeks i didn't have any side effects, but this week i have been experiencing a lot of nausea. i am not sure why. i guess it will work itself out. now to take my kids on a walk to the park

bye for now

YAY

May 29, 2007

well i am about 7 days post op and i feel great. the surgery went well, i had no complications. Thank you Jesus! and thanks to everyone who was praying for me.
The first two days out of the hospital were a little rough, but after that things have gotten much better. I have not had any problems with nausea and my body is working normally. I can eat about 1/2 cup of food at each meal. I have been so lucky! I have lost 8.2 lbs so far and it is still a little hard to believe that they are never coming back. But they aren 't!
:)

Tomorrow is it!

May 21, 2007

Well tomorrow is my big day, and honestly, i go back and forth between being scared that i won't  make it and leave my wonderful children behind,  and then in the next moment i am so excited to start my new life as a thinner person. Boy, this is sure a stressful day for me! I am trying to keep myself busy, but my brain won't stop obsessing. I will be relieved tomorrow night when the surgery is finished. I am really looking forward to living my life as the real me that has been trapped behind the weight all these years.

7 days and counting

May 16, 2007

I went in for my pre op physical today and the doctor said everything is fine, so i am now just counting the days. I do, however, go back and forth between being a little scared of complications and being excited that i am about to start a new life as a thinner person. I guess that is normal, but I am glad I didn't have to wait for months like some people do. I think that would be really hard. Now I just have to continue the slimfast (exciting :P) that my doctor required and pray that everything goes well. I am really excited about being able to enjoy our vacation this year and being able to keep up with my kids. It will be nice to go on rides with them and not worry about the seat belt fitting me. :)

Bye for now

My Big Day

May 01, 2007

Well, a date has been set!  May 22 i will start on my journey to find the real me. that is only 3 weeks from today! I am very excited, but a little nervous too. I guess that is normal. I know that complications are rare, but you can't help thinking  about them. Especially when you have two young children who need you. But mostly, I am very excited!
I already took out my smaller clothes and set them aside for when i need them :)

The First Step

Nov 16, 2006

Well  I had my consultation with my surgery on friday and I spent the weekend reading a couple of books about WLS and the different procedures that are available. I decided on RNY and next week I go in for my first pre op appt with a pulmonist to get the ball rolling. I have to say, I am already worried about complications with the surgery even though i acutually am in decent shape aside from the excess weight. But they say the first step is the hardest.
