Hello,
I'm Irene, I'm 41 years old and have two daughters, ages 5 and 8. I've been married for 12 years this June. I've been overweight ever since I can remember, but have really gotten out of control since after the birth of my second daughter in 2002. I've always spent so much time taking care of everybody else, that I've completely forgotten about myself. I'm trying to take hold of the reigns and regain some of my life. I started looking into WLS a year ago and this past March I met with Dr. Hess at Boston Medical Center. I started going through all the motions of preparing for the surgery, only to find out two months later that my husband's company excludes the procedure through their health care provider BCBS of Iowa. Needless to say it was quite a blow. My parents, who are hell bent on helping me through this offered to pay for supplemental insurance for me. The policy takes effect on June 1st and I pray to God that they approve me. I don't know what I'll do if they don't. Anyway that's the place I'm at, at this point in time..wish me luck.
